Définition. C'est l'inflammation des follicules pileux de la barbe chez l'homme. Elle est d'origine bactérienne, plus rarement mycosique (champignon). Son nom exact est la folliculite , sycosis étant un nom désuet. Cette maladie bénigne apparait surtout chez l'homme, de 30 à 50 ans.
